FEELING PAIN IN SPACES
WHERE YOU SHOULD FEEL SUPPORTED..

START HERE IF YOU'RE FEELING THAT:

something is off..

I'm questioning my:

faith, purpose, interest in, belief in,
levels of stress, treatment by authority or by other members, amount of time spent..

Related to some of the things I'm supposed to agree with - or the people I have to interact with in my:

wellness group, church,
social community, fellowship, special interest group or self-help circle, multi level marketing team etc...

IF YOU SENSE THE SPACES YOU FEEL UNSAFE ARE:

RELIGIOUS RELATED

Feels like questioning the history or the family..

except that a lot of this hurts.

  • my childhood religious upbringing

  • fundamentalist beliefs of my religion

  • relentless acts of service or participation as a means to evade sin

  • spending time on or being preoccupied with persuading others or working to receiving spirit into their lives

  • feeling bullied or targeted by members in authority or other church members to control your behaviour or limit your voice if you stop engaging in the fellowship norms.

  • being controlled by guilt and fear of the afterlife, the rapture, hell or other extreme concepts since childhood

  • experiences and learning while being homeschooled or at bible camp

  • factors related to religious schools including college/university

  • the institution of church being raised by doctrine without my consent

IF YOU SENSE THE SPACES YOU FEEL UNSAFE ARE:

NON RELIGIOUS COMMUNITY RELATED

Feels like questioning a core part of who I am..

except that a lot of this hurts.

  • rigid beliefs about the morals and specific dogma of the group or leader

  • specific thoughts, behaviours and the feelings I'm having about my experiences as a member

  • relentless acts of service or participation to stay on the positive side of group or leadership expectations

  • spending time on or being preoccupied with- persuading others to join or fundraising for the group

  • being controlled by guilt or fear of the outcomes should you stop carrying out the norms of the group.

  • high pressure performance and goals set with shaming, passive aggressive or fear based discipline if targets are not met
